The Costa del Sol or Sun Coast in Spain is known for its clement weather, picturesque beaches and spectacular scenery – all of which you can enjoy if you spend your holidays in Nerja, one of its towns. You can sample many exciting activities, too, especially if you book a Nerja apartment and stay for a few days.
Spelunking at the Caves of Nerja
The approximately five-million year-old cave complex of Nerja is a must-see attraction for tourists on holidays in Nerja since it offers natural wonders such as the largest calcite column in the world and various remarkable stalactite and stalagmite formations. It also has a show gallery with exhibits of the skeletal remains that were unearthed inside the caves, although most of them are displayed at the museum outside, as well as prehistoric wall paintings, many of which can be seen by joining special tours. There is also a concert hall, where a summer music festival and various concerts and ballet performances are held each year.
Hit the Water at Playa Burriana
Sunbathing is one of the most popular things to do in Nerja, especially on Playa Burriana, the town’s largest beach which is covered with fine sand. If this is what you intend to do for most of your stay, renting one of the seaside apartments in Nerja is recommended. If you’re looking for more excitement, though, you can also rent a jetski and make a splash, try surfing or even get introductory courses in scuba diving. After all, Nerja is considered the scuba diving center of the Costa del Sol.
Savor the Views from the Balcony of Europe
Like King Alfonso XII, you are sure to be captivated by the scenery you will see from the Balcony of Europe or Balcon de Europa, a promenade lined with palm trees and exotic plants built on the site of an old castle and looking over the ocean. This is the perfect place for a romantic stroll, whether by day or by night, as well as a great place to dine. If you look closely, you might even catch a glimpse of the coast of Africa on a clear day.
Volunteer at the Nerja Donkey Sanctuary
The Nerja Donkey Sanctuary is dedicated to caring for rescue and retired donkeys, although you will also find horses, mules, goats, pigs, dogs and other animals in the sanctuary when you visit. This is one of the most rewarding things to do in Nerja since you can get a chance to help out by feeding, grooming and walking the animals, particularly the donkeys and dogs, aside from simply petting them. If you want to help out further, you can even adopt a donkey for a year. Don’t worry, you won’t have to bring the donkey home. You just have to make a donation.
A Night on the Town
Nerja may not be known for its nightlife but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t have any clubs or bars. In fact, you will find several as you go around the city during your holidays in Nerja. Most of them can be found around the Plaza Tutti Frutti and Antonio Millon, where there are occasional flamenco shows and parties that run until four in the morning, so no matter where your Nerja apartment is, make your way here for a taste of Nerja at night.
Take a Spanish Class at Nerja Language Centers
If you want to have more fun or get to know the locals better during your holidays in Nerja, you should definitely enroll in a Spanish class at one of the language centers in town. There are several for you to choose from, most of which offer both beginner courses for those who want to learn enough basic Spanish to get by and advanced courses for those who plan to stay in Spain long or become regular visitors. Many of them even offer excursions around the town or to nearby cities, like Malaga and Granada, so you can practice your Spanish while seeing some amazing sights.

The Lace Market, Nottingham
Once the center of the world’s lace industry, during the time of the British Empire, the Lace Market is, today, a protected heritage area. It features many incredible examples of industrial architecture of the Nineteenth Century. The market was not like a normal market area, instead of featuring salespersons and stalls, the lace market was more a collection of salesrooms and warehouses selling and displaying lace. After the decline in the lace industry the area became rundown however, these days, the majority of the warehouses have been restored and renovated for residential use and other purposes such as photographic studios and the likes. The Lace Market is a popular tourist attraction.
Galleries of Justice
Near to the Lace Market can be found the Galleries of Justice located in Shire Hall. The Hall is a Georgian-built civic building featuring Neoclassical columns, pilasters and dome. Shire Hall has 2 excellently preserved courtrooms from the Victorian period plus bath house, a women’s prison, old cells, an Edwardian police station and a prisoner’s exercise yard.

Vacations in the UK seem to be immensely popular this year, most probably due to the current economic climate and the low value of the pound Sterling. The United Kingdom has many first class tourist destinations including London (the English capital city) and other interesting cities plus a collection of seaside resorts such as; Blackpool, Bognor Regis, Skegness and Southport. One place often overlooked is Plymouth in the south of England.
First appearances are that Plymouth appears rather plain and primarily modern, but investigating a little deeper and you will soon discover that the city has a rich history and a long association with the sea. As far back as the 16th century there has been a port in the town. In 1588 Sir Francis Drake set sail from the port at Plymouth to successfully defend the English by defeating the Spanish Armada. A further historic moment occurred in sixteen twenty when the Pilgrim Fathers set sail for North America.
It is possible to have reasonably priced Plymouth vacations by booking Plymouth bed and breakfast rather than booking rooms in a plush hotel. A quick search on Yahoo will reveal that you can make a reservation from £29 a night and many establishments have reasonably priced dinners also, often equivalent to, or less costly than local restaurants.
Tourist Attractions In Plymouth
There are numerous places of interest in the town which are worth a visit. Popular visitor attractions include; Merchant’s House Museum, the Barbican district, the Elizabethan House and the National Marine Aquarium. A trip on a boat around the port is a superb way to spend some time but if you find that you have more time why not take a day trip to places close to Plymouth, such as; Mount Edgcumbe, Saltram House or Buckland Abbey.
Saltram House is a fine Tudor Mansion which is located 2 miles east of the town, Mount Edgcumbe is a further Tudor house with coastal paths, landscaped gardens and parklands, and Buckland Abbey, around 6 miles from Plymouth, is a Cistercian abbey which was at one time by Sir Francis Drake and was at a later date redesigned as a family home.
If you are in the process of considering spending a few weeks in Plymouth it is vital that you reserve your accommodation at your first opportunity as, unfortunately hotels and guest houses in Plymouth tend to be surprisingly busy and are commonly fully booked months in advance. If you are a large group you may find that serviced apartments in Plymouth prove to be cheaper alternative to bed and breakfast accommodation in Plymouth. If you are visiting the United Kingdom from overseas then you could consider making a reservation for a room in hotels in London to take in the attractions of the nations capital city also.

Once they’ve tried it, kids who’ve been to a good boys camp usually return for as long as they can.

They should be reassured by the fact that all staff at a boys camp are professionals, some with qualifications in child care, and all with an understanding of kids. These adults are responsible enough to ensure that the kid gets the most out of the experience without endangering him. On the other hand, a little adventure is an important part of a child’s life.

Start researching on the best boys camp for you son today. Let him enjoy life at a young age so that he would be a better man in the future. Let him experience everything a boys camp has to offer.
I recently came back from a weeks self catering Dorset. We had resolved that rather than seeing the beach of the Spanish coast, we would keep our cash, take a chance with the English atmospheric conditions and head to the picturesque beaches of Bournemouth in Dorset. It seems as if I was not the only person as Bournemouth beach was full and with all the things the region has to provide, it is not much of a surprise.
Bournemouth and Poole are really intriguing bits of Dorset to visit but the area has so a great deal more to give. There were a wide variety of sights and sounds and areas to see. My selection of the different tourist destinations would have to be Brownsea Island, Tower Park and Sandbanks beach. I had many a good time at all these sites and would extremely advocate them to people.
This was one of the grounds that I resolved that my family unit and I would rent in a Dorset holiday cottage rather than a hotel. This meant that we were able to holiday in a house where we felt snug and free to do what we want. The property was likewise a pleasant base from which we were able move to the localised tourist attractions easily. We were fortunate enough that our country holiday cottage was positioned less then 30 minutes away from most of these tourist destinations.
The Dorset cottage we stayed in was near to a traditional pub that we regularly attended, where we struck up a friendly relationship with the landlord and his wife. We found out from him that Dorset holiday cottages were very popular in the region and that he often met travellers such as us that stay in them. If you are considering of taking a Dorset holiday then I would recommend living in a Dorset holiday cottage. The welcome you will receive from the individuals is tremendous, it is a great deal forgiving on the wallet than a vacation afield and you will go home feeling unwound and refreshened.
The people that have chosen to take a cheap vacation in the near future may want to consider traveling on a cheap Caribbean cruise for their vacation. There are numerous benefits that can be realized by choosing a cheap Caribbean cruise for the vacation that many people do not think about when planning their vacation. The best cruises are not always determined by the price of the cruise and people may find that paying less for a cheap cruise package can save them a lot of money, leaving more money to spend on other things for their vacation.
More Money For Other Expenditures
One of the biggest benefits of choosing a cheap Caribbean cruise for your vacation is the amount of money that you will be saving for other aspects of your vacation, such as shore excursions and entertainment. There are often many different things to do and see in the ports that the cruise will be visiting and spending less money by choosing a cheap Caribbean cruise can give you more options for what to do when you are not on the cruise ship. Many people make the mistake of choosing an expensive cruise for their vacation because of the comfort level of the cruise and fail to realize that spending so much of their money on the cruise will limit the number of places that they can go and what they can experience on the budget that they are limited to.
More Ports Of Call
A cheap Caribbean cruise will often travel to more locations during the cruise than a traditional cruise that may only travel to one or two major island cities. The number of places that the cruise ship will travel to is very important for the experience because there will be a bigger chance that you will see things that you have never seen before and you will spend more time experiencing different cultures instead of looking at waves over the side of the ship. The owners of the cruise line offering the cheap Caribbean cruise will list the ports of call for each type of cruise on their website so that the person will be able to see which cruises go to the areas that they are interested in visiting.
Service From The Staff
The service that is available for cruise lines offering a cheap Caribbean cruise is often the same as the service that you would receive on a more expensive cruise line. These Caribbean cruises are operated just like a typical cruise and the only difference from a more traditional cruise is the price of the cabin on the ship. Having good service while on vacation is one of the best benefits of choosing a cheap Caribbean cruise.

At the Rouge River resort for instance, the river is home to natural stocks of fishing trout, including brook trout, brown trout and sea trout. Water sports take place at many of the vast lakes in Canada and double up as skidoo runs and ice-fishing facilities in the coldest months. The majority of water ways have endless cycling tracks running along their banks that can used by snowmobiles in the winter months. There are a couple of computer games that I have played recently that have led me to seriously think about going on one of those brilliant luxury cruises I have heard so much about.
Cruise ship Tyccon is the first and most obvious on the list
This game is the most realistic game that inspired me to look into going on a cruise holiday. Basically all you have to do is run a cruise ship for yourself. This game lets you go to anyplace on the ship from the casino right the way to the captains quarters. This is brilliant as in the ships featured in the game are all based on real ships which makes it perfect as you can see exactly what you can do on a ship without even having to visit a travel agent or website. You also get to see how hard it is to keep the ship running which although unnecessary for people on the actual holiday I thought it was very interesting to see myself.
Splinter Cell Double Agent is next on the list
Quite a surprising one here as the point of this mission in the game is to actually plant a bomb on the ship but don’t worry its all to do with terrorists and what not. When I was playing this game it is safe to say the graphics are so good I didn’t even need to go and look at a website to see what a luxury ship looked like which is one of the reason this game is on the list. This level is great as you are not restricted on where you can go on the ship so you can fully explore and see the detail that went into the game as again it was based on a real luxury cruise ship.
Mario Kart- Yea I know, how on earth
This is rather crazy I know but there is a level in the game that you get to drive around on a luxury cruise ship and no it doesn’t matter that it is Princess Daisy’s ship and not a real thing it still shows how big one of these ships are? Well in all honesty you could if there wasn’t anyone onboard which is the case in this game.
So there you have it and it gets even better as I am actually going to book a holiday with Regent Cruises today so all I can say is thank you gaming!
